What’s your return policy?

All returned items must be labeled with a Return Authorization Number (RA#) and shipped freight prepaid. Any product received without an RA# will be refused. All returns must be received by Scenic Gear within 30 days of issuance of the RA# and are subject to inspection. Unless approved as a warranty replacement, all returns are subject to a minimum 25% restocking fee. To receive credit for a product upon return, it must be in resalable condition.

Custom fabricated products may not be returned.


I want a custom Trail Chef; when can I order?

Please contact us via phone at 888-835-7123 or email at info@scenicgear.com to describe what you are seeking and we can better answer your questions.  After we discuss the vehicle you are attempting to outfit as well as customization needs, we will provide a detailed quote for you to review.


What can be customized?

Scenic can customize sizes (width and height of the overall unit) for the Trail Chef.  We can also customize a mounting plate for your particular vehicle (you must provide vehicle specifications and other information).


How much does it cost?

The base unit is $1,599.99.  A fully equipped Trail Chef is $2,299.99  There are various accessories that can also be ordered  – See product pages for complete details of what is included with each item.


How much is Shipping? Is shipping included?

Shipping is not included and varies by product ordered and destination.  When we have formally launched the product and make it available for sale, the website will calculate your shipping price. Until then, there is a flat fee of $150 to ship to all 48 contiguous states. For information on international shipping costs, please email info@scenicgear.com or call us at 888-835-7123.


What vehicles will the Trail Chef Fit?

The trail chef fits many vehicles.  Many vehicles will require some drilling to install.  We have also developed a generic mounting plate (see mounting plate information) to assist in mounting in your vehicle.  We will shortly have installation instructions and videos available for download.  We will be adding mounting solutions for specific vehicles in the future. Alongside our “universal” mounting plate option, we will soon have a direct mounting options that will have documentation and a DIY instructional video for at home installations.


I have an SUV will the Trail Chef Fit?

Please see the unit dimensions to verify that the trail chef will fit in your vehicle.  If your lift gate is NOT level with the floor of the vehicle you may need to contact us for a custom solution at info@scenicgear.com or by calling 888-835-7123.


Do I have to bolt the Trail Chef to my vehicle?

The base unit must be secured so when the drawers are extended the unit does not become unstable.  You must secure the Trail Chef and the best way to do that is to bolt it to the vehicle (or to the mounting plate—also bolted to the vehicle).


Does the Trail Chef come with a sink?

Yes. It also comes with an insert that goes on top of the sink for when more counter space is desired.  The insert is NOT suitable as a cutting board.


Do you sell propane tanks with the stove?

No you must buy propane tanks separately.  We have a propane tank holder and extension hose available to solve the tank/shelf space problem.  (The holder and hose are included with the Trail Chef Deluxe).


What is the warranty for the Trail Chef?

The Trail Chef is warrantied for 1 year for defects in workmanship.  See owners manual for more details.


Are the stove and sink and water jug warrantied?

Contact the manufacturer of those products for warranty related issues.


Do I have to assemble the Trail Chef?

Yes.  Some parts (like the heavy drawer slides) are already assembled.  Assembly takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the product that you order.  See owners manual for assembly instructions.
